Don’t underestimate Best Buy. They are not only surviving in this competitive landscape, they are thriving. Course corrections in their digital strategy has made them a force to be reckoned with.
Department stores are losing but, if we had to award a winner, it would be Nordstrom. They are struggling with topline growth across the board, though Nordstrom shows promising digital momentum.
Retail, over all other industries, has the most to gain from digital. The correlation between digital strength and revenue in the retail industry is incredibly strong. What does that mean? CMOs should have funds for digital at the very top of their Christmas lists this year.
